Indraprastha College for Women is a pioneer in women's education. It is the only college in Delhi University that offers a course in Mass Media and Mass Communication offers a bachelor-level degree in the same, and also the only college to have its well equipped Audio Visual Production Centre, which was inaugurated by Ms. Sushma Swaraj in 2003. This year we are celebrating the completion of 10 successful years of the course - 7 batches have already graduated and are well placed in Print and Electronic Media. The department has been continuously progressing.

Meet the Media

Over the years, "Meet the Media" has raised several questions that have bothered the Media Industry in order to bring about a quantum leap in the standards and working of the industry. This is achieved by bringing together people working in the industry and the people who aspire to be media professionals.

This year our topic of discussion is "Lights, Camera, Action: Sense or Sensation". It aims to judge that whether media is feeding off on the sensationalism they create, or whether there is any sense being portrayed to the common man. Is sense getting lost in the sensationalism?

Other than the National Seminar, there are several events open to all students for participation, with attractive prizes to be won. The events are:

Extempore Debate
The participant will be to speak on the spot on a given topic. Spontaneity is what you need for this. Think fast, plan what you speak, and take home a bag full of prizes!

Individual Participation
Topic will be given on the spot.
5 minutes planning time.

Film and Photography Quiz
Participants will have to answer questions based on the different aspects of Photography, Popular Films. Brush up your GK before come for this competition because its going to be a tough one!

No. of team members- 2
Written Prelims, which will select 12 teams for finals.
Final Rounds of Quiz will be decided by Quizmaster on the spot.
Registration being 20th September 9 AM.

Cartoon Making Competition
Have witty comments on anything and everything? And have the knack of drawing caricatures? Then we see in you a budding cartoonist. If a picture speaks a thousand words, a cartoon speaks a million, and makes one laugh too! So gear up with all your paints and brushes and sharpen your funny bone for this event

Paper will be provided.
Other consumables like Paints, Pencils, etc are to be brought by each participant.
Time Limit- 1 hour 30 minutes.
